Service Categories

Initial Retainer

A non-refundable retainer is required to open the case and begin work. This retainer covers the initial hours of case review and evaluation work, ensuring that comprehensive forensic analysis can begin immediately upon engagement.

Included: Initial case materials review, consultation with retaining counsel, preliminary case assessment, and establishment of evaluation plan.

Record Review, Consultation & Report Writing

Billed hourly in 15-minute increments for all case-related work performed in the office. This includes:

  • Comprehensive review of all relevant records (medical, psychiatric, legal documents, depositions)
  • Forensic clinical interviews and psychological testing
  • Detailed forensic report preparation
  • Case consultation with retaining counsel
  • Testimony preparation

Deposition & Court Testimony

Billed hourly from the time I am scheduled to be available until I am dismissed. A half-day minimum is typically required for any day of scheduled testimony, paid in advance to reserve the date.

Note: Testimony rates reflect the specialized nature of forensic expert witness services and the preparation required to provide credible, defensible testimony.

Travel Time

Billed portal-to-portal for any case-related travel outside my office, including travel to depositions, court appearances, or evaluations at alternate locations.

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation fee is charged if a scheduled deposition or court appearance is canceled with less than 72 business hours' notice. This policy ensures that reserved dates are protected and compensates for the inability to schedule other work during that time.

Billing & Payment Terms

📋 Responsibility for Payment

Retaining counsel's firm is solely responsible for the payment of all fees and expenses, regardless of the outcome of the case or any third-party payment arrangements.

🔄 Evergreen Retainer

All services are billed against the retainer. When the balance falls below a specified threshold, you will be invoiced to replenish the retainer to its original amount.

⏸️ Work Suspension

Work will be suspended if the retainer is not replenished in a timely manner. All outstanding fees must be paid in full prior to any scheduled deposition or court testimony.

📅 Invoicing Schedule

Detailed invoices are sent monthly, itemizing all work performed. Payment is due upon receipt. Itemized billing ensures transparency and allows for accurate tracking of case-related expenses.
